More songs by Frank Meyer

This file is part of a collection that (moreso than the rest of the site) are not meant to be detailed or accurate transcriptions of the original recordings. They're just some simple chord charts that I made for my own use, some of them my own arrangements.

"RAMBLIN' MIND" by Frank Meyer www.papermoonshiners.com
From his 2001 album Scrounger's Paradise
Written by F. Meyer, A. Meyer (Ditty Dat Music, BMI)

  G C7
I come from a tradition where facts get forgot
  G Am D7
I must have learned it well 'cause I can't remember squat
    G C7
Anniversaries and birthdays, I forget 'em and I fret
  G D G
I know there's one a'coming and I hope it ain't here yet

The grass was dry last week, I turned the water on
Left town, came back, found my neighborhood's a pond
I'm always running out of gas, I need a bigger tank
I'm overdrawn again down at the memory bank

             C7 G
I have forgotten what it's like to never lose a thought
        C7 G D
Been searching around the world for reasons I forgot
      G C7
If I recall one thing I forget about half the time
     G D G
I am a ramblin' man and I've got a ramblin' mind

Did I take out the trash? Why's that cat so thin?
Where'd I put my keys? And why's that cat so thin?
Sometimes I cross my eyes and forget to dot my tees
I put my boots on backwards and forget to use my knees

I remember lots of jokes but then forget the punch
I go to dinner parties and always brings my lunch
I want to dance the two-step but then I count to three
And I can never figure why my partner's always me

I forget what I'm doing even before I start
And forget to make my songs rhyme, you know what I mean
Memories I've had a few but put them in the drawer
Got a string around my finger and I wonder what it's for

   I am a ramblin' man and I...
